For years Jherna Shahani has been focused on litigating in both state and federal courts where her areas of responsibility include drafting briefs and motions for summary judgment, motions to strike, trial briefs, proposed orders objections to magistrate’s orders and more.
Interested in the law from an early age, Ms Shahani decided she would work to make sure the accused got the same chance at justice regardless of status or class.
In preparing for her career, she worked with Congressman Charles Rangel as an intern to the Congressman. After working as a law clerk with New Orleans’ District Attorney in the Homicide Division, she began working on construction defect litigation where she would draft case evaluations for clients and review construction-related documents.
Expanding her horizon, Ms Shahani moved into family law where she worked with real estate matters, wills, and trusts.
In 2011 She joined a multi-state creditor defense firm and telecommuted for a year before promotion to management in a top law firm where she drafted appellate briefs and motions.
The next four years saw her grow in experience while she managed highly litigious direct actions and counterclaims in Florida and pushed matters to a resolution from inception through settlement, or litigation.
