Murder suicide in Las VegasTragically, an elderly couple was found deceased in their Las Vegas home on Tuesday, October 21st. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, early investigations point toward this incident being a murder suicide.

Officers arrived at the couple’s residence, around the 11000 block of Glacier View Avenue, at around 4:35 P.M. on Tuesday. The unit had been called out to the home for a welfare check.

When the police knocked at the front door, no one answered. Concerned for the well-being of the individuals inside, the authorities did a brief search around the perimeter of the home. As they looked toward the backyard, one of the officers spotted a man lying motionless on a bed inside the home through the window.

After attempting to get the individual to answer the front door again, authorities made the decision to enter the home. Tragically, that’s when they discovered an elderly man and an elderly woman both suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were called out to the residence, but both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.

After investigating the situation further, officers discovered that the two individuals were married. 91-year-old Herman Lipshutz is accused of shooting 92-year-old Phyllis Lipshutz in the head before turning the weapon on himself.

Detectives additionally learned that the couple had recently visited their doctor and learned that both of their medical conditions were worsening. While the investigation remains ongoing, it’s believed that the couple’s medical news played a huge role in the shooting.
