Trump Epstein filesThe New York Times recently published an interesting editorial that suggests the current Presidential administration’s handling of the Jeffery Epstein saga is a great case study into widespread manipulation.

The editorial argues that current President Trump’s relationship with the disgraced financier is a massive red flag on its own. According to countless reports, videos, and first-hand accounts, Trump and Epstein were once close friends who both joked about their reputations for chasing young women.

In one of his most infamous quotes, Trump told a 2002 magazine that Epstein is “a lot of fun to be with,” and further claimed that, “It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

In a more recent revelation, Trump is accused of signing a crude birthday card to Epstein dating back to 2003 where he suggested, “may every day be another wonderful secret.” In a recently revealed email exchange from 2019, Epstein was found claiming “Of course he knew about the girls,” regarding Trump.

Despite all the mounting evidence and proof, many of President Trump’s supporters fail to connect him to the egregious acts and systematic abuse of women. Trump has clearly used the Epstein story and speculation for his own political advantage, promising to track down and arrest the individuals responsible for abusing women and children.

He’s also repeatedly promised to release the “Epstein files” to publicly identify individuals who may have played a role in the abuse.

Many of President Trump’s allies and supporters have also taken things even further by encouraging conspiracy theories and speculating about the crimes that may have occurred on Epstein’s island. Donald Trump Jr. himself has claimed that Trump’s opponents are “trying to protect those pedophiles” by keeping the Epstein files a secret.

Once Trump secured the presidency and gained the power to release the alleged files, he did not. Instead, he gave some of his top supporters binders of Epstein documents in February as an influencer stunt. These binders did not contain any new information. Two days later, Pam Bondi told the public that they would get the “full Epstein files,” and in March, she said there was a “truckload” of new evidence on the case that would go public soon. None of this ever happened.

Instead, Trump continued to get angrier that his supporters continued bringing up Epstein. Now, he’s aggressively attempting to prevent the release of new information while gaslighting his supporters into believing that there never was an “Epstein list.”
