Armored truck robbery in Nevada29-year-old Devonte Devon Jackson made his initial appearance in federal court on August 14th after being accused of interfering with commerce by robbery and brandishing a firearm while doing so.

During the incident, a total of $327,620 was stolen. The armored vehicle was parked outside of an unnamed bank on the 9600 block of West Charleston Boulevard on July 16 when the Jackson approached the vehicle with a handgun. After taking the money, Jackson fled the area and state.

A short time later on July 29, the FBI and Texas State Troopers in Centerville, Texas, located Jackson and immediately discovered the outstanding warrant for his arrest. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police also helped investigators determine where Jackson may have fled. He was extradited back to Las Vegas to face the federal charges related to the truck robbery.

The suspect’s jury trial is set to begin on October 20, 2025. Assistant United States Attorney Tina M. Snellings will be prosecuting this case.

Public records suggest that Jackson was previously convicted in 2018. Back then, he was also charged with armored truck robbery. In that situation, he reportedly made off with about $14,000. The armored truck in the 2018 case was outside of a food restaurant when Jackson robbed it. DNA linked Jackson to the crime scene. Incredibly, Jackson’s legal team at the time was able to secure a great plea deal and he only served three years of probation as a result of his actions.

His recent charges could potentially result in a prison sentence of up to 20 years. He could also face a mandatory seven-year sentence to be served out consecutively for the firearm charge.
