Clearly, these statements are highly suspicious, considering Clinton’s very public past partnering with the disgraced financier and his notorious helpmate, Ghislaine.
Clinton made her statement during a six-hour, closed-door deposition. This round of questioning was hosted by the House Oversight Committee and took place at the Center for Performing Arts in Chappaqua, NY.
These statements come after Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, fought tirelessly over several months to avoid being forced to testify. Despite their attempts to avoid being deposed, they were threatened with contempt of court charges if they did not make statements to the committee. This is the first time in history that a former president and first lady have been essentially forced to testify before Congress.
In her opening statement, Clinton was sure to make it known that she believes House Republicans are using her as a scapegoat in their ongoing “partisan political theater.” She also accused the investigation of being one-sided and designed to protect one political party rather than to seek justice and truth.
While this statement may hold truth to it, it does not take away from the fact that Hillary and Bill Clinton were both known to associate strongly with both Ghislane and Epstein. Ghislane attended Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010. She also attended multiple conferences hosted by the Clinton Foundation. What’s more, Epstein and Ghislane were both invited to the White House on at least one occasion while Bill Clinton was in office.
Hillary went on to tell Congress that her husband did fly with Epstein on multiple occasions, but she alleged that these flights were “charitable trips.”
Current President Donald Trump has told media outlets that he “regrets” that the Clintons must testify.
The case of Epstein and his alleged massive global human trafficking ring has had far-reaching implications across the globe, and it highlights the very important notion that no one should be above the law.
The American justice system was designed with this notion in mind.
That said, Clinton’s long deposition did not appear to uncover any new information, evidence, or leads in the ongoing pursuit of justice in the Epstein case. The following day, Bill Clinton followed suit and told Congress that he saw nothing and did nothing wrong.
