Drug cartel in Venezuela hit by USOn or around June 12–13, 2026, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the United States, under his direction, carried out a successful strike that killed Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores (known as “Niño Guerrero”), the longtime leader of the Venezuelan transnational criminal organization Tren de Aragua (TdA).

He emphasized that the operation was coordinated closely with the Venezuelan government, with whom the U.S. is “working very well.”

In the same announcement, Trump noted that as a result of the strike, “Tren de Aragua terrorists no longer have safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else.”

The cartel began in a Venezuelan prison more than a decade ago and has expanded into human trafficking, extortion, weapons smuggling, and other crimes across Latin America and parts of the United States.

It was designated a terrorist organization early in the current administration.

Federal Investigations in Nevada

Actions against high-level cartel figures often lead to increased activity by federal agencies. In Las Vegas and across Nevada, this can mean increased scrutiny of individuals with suspected links to the group’s operations.

Law enforcement continues to pursue cases involving organized crime, trafficking, and related federal offenses.

Large-Scale Federal Investigations: What You Should Know

When the feds investigate cartels or gangs, things can spiral fast. They don’t just look at obvious suspects; sometimes they pull in people who barely have a connection.

Maybe it’s because you shared a house with someone, your name popped up in phone records, money moved through your account, or you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

What might feel like a simple round of questions can turn into serious trouble, think charges like conspiracy or providing material support.

If You’re Facing Federal Charges

Federal cases are no joke. We’re talking about long prison sentences, hefty fines, and, for non-citizens, the possibility of deportation.

If they slap a terrorist label on the case, it’s even trickier and your defense options shrink.

Before there’s even a verdict, you and your family can face a ton of stress, piles of legal bills, and fallout that lingers for years.
