Dallas police just made a pretty big drug bust at Love Field Airport. It all started when airline workers noticed one of the suitcases had split open while they were handling it, and marijuana came spilling out.
They immediately called in narcotics detectives, who tracked down two more suitcases belonging to the same traveler. All three were packed with vacuum-sealed bags of weed.
In total, they recovered about 75 pounds, a substantial amount that definitely looked like it was headed for distribution.
The woman was picked up before she could even leave the airport. She’s now facing a second-degree felony charge for possession of a large amount of marijuana (between 50 and 2,000 pounds). If convicted, she could be looking at several years behind bars and some hefty fines.
As of the latest updates, her name hasn’t appeared in Dallas County jail records yet, and police haven’t released many additional details about the case.
