sexual exploitation of a childA Las Vegas man has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges tied to the sexual exploitation of children.

Daniel Hennigh also received 35 years of supervised release from U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro. The case was handled as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood effort.

What the Court Documents Showed

Court records show that between April 27 and 28, 2025, Hennigh used social media apps to talk with another person about sexually abusing children. During that same stretch he shared a video he had made of a child who was in his care.

He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children, one count of coercion and enticement, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

The Sentence and Additional Requirements

Prosecutors asked for the 35 year prison term. On top of the prison time and the long stretch of supervised release, Hennigh must register as a sex offender and keep that registration up to date under federal law.

FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto said protecting children and holding those who hurt them responsible is still one of the bureau’s top priorities.

Federal Focus on These Cases

Cases that involve the sexual exploitation of children are treated as high priority matters in federal court. When the charges include producing, sharing, and possessing this kind of material, especially when a child in the person’s care is involved, the sentences are often very long.

If You Have Been Harmed or Face Accusations

Situations that involve the exploitation of children leave deep and lasting harm. Anyone who has been hurt deserves support and a clear path toward safety. At the same time, these cases sit among the most serious in the criminal system, and a false accusation can wreck a person’s life just as thoroughly.
