Man arrested for stabbing in Las VegasLas Vegas Metropolitan Police made a swift arrest following a fatal stabbing late Thursday night in the eastern Las Vegas Valley. The incident just showed how quickly a situation can turn deadly and how fast authorities can move when witnesses are available.

According to police reports, officers were called to the 6300 block of Peach Orchard Road, near East Sahara Avenue and North Hollywood Boulevard, at 11:31 p.m.

They found a man in the backyard of a residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.

Witnesses Lead to Quick Arrest

Investigators say several witnesses identified 23-year-old Eder Castrejon as the person who stabbed the victim during a physical fight. Castrejon was taken into custody at the scene without resistance. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of murder.

His initial court appearance is scheduled for Saturday in the Las Vegas Justice Court. As of Friday morning, authorities had not publicly released the victim’s name. Police have not yet provided additional details about what sparked the altercation or the exact relationship between Castrejon and the victim.

Detectives continue to review evidence and conduct interviews as the case moves forward.

Legal Process Just Beginning

Many questions arise in these cases. Was it self-defense? Did something provoke the incident? Are the witnesses reliable? Does the evidence actually back up the charges?

Violent crime is still a real issue here. This stabbing is one more on the list of homicide cases Las Vegas police deal with every year.
