Haleigh Morgan Knight, 30, pleaded guilty earlier this year to felony theft. On Wednesday, she started serving the first 30 days of a two-year probation sentence in the Clark County Detention Center, according to court records.
From June 2023 to April 2024, Knight allegedly convinced a longtime high school friend, Cydney Fink, along with several members of Fink’s family, that she was a social media influencer and a travel advisor for Four Seasons Hotels. She collected money for trip deposits to destinations abroad, but the trips never materialized. When victims asked for refunds, Knight reportedly told them it wasn’t possible.
In total, the Finks and others sent Knight more than $20,000 through digital payments. She also allegedly faked a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and used a GoFundMe page to solicit additional funds.
Knight was ordered to pay back more than $19,700 in restitution at a rate of $825 per month.
